Before starting this business, I spent years working in corporate cybersecurity as a Security Engineer. It was detail-driven, high-stakes work — the kind where accuracy isn't optional and small oversights have real consequences. That background shaped how I approach bookkeeping today: methodical, precise, and never willing to let the small stuff slide, because I know how much it matters.

Why I started Amber Record Bookkeeping

Somewhere along the way, I realized that success in a corporate career meant more meetings, more hours, and less time with the people I actually wanted to be present for. I didn't want to keep trading my time for someone else's priorities. I wanted the freedom to build something of my own — and to spend more time with my family without stepping away from meaningful work. Bookkeeping gave me both: a way to use the same precision and reliability I'd built a career on, in a business that runs on my terms instead of someone else's calendar.

Bookkeeping isn't just data entry — it's peace of mind. Every reconciled account and every clean report is one less thing keeping you up at night. I built this business on three things: accuracy you can count on, communication that's actually clear, and care that goes beyond the invoice.

I run this business from my home office in Orting, Washington, which means you get dedicated, personal attention — not a rotating cast of accountants who've never met you. When I'm not deep in QuickBooks, you'll usually find me lost in a good book, cooking or baking something new in the kitchen, or unwinding with a bit of computer gaming.
